What is a custom alias?

Instead of getting a random short code (like strmlinks.com/a8Xk2), you can set a custom alias like strmlinks.com/my-movie or strmlinks.com/latest-episode.

How to set a custom alias

  1. Go to Create Link
  2. Paste your destination URL
  3. Look for the Custom Alias field (optional section)
  4. Type your desired alias — letters, numbers, and hyphens only
  5. Click Check Availability to see if it is available
  6. Create your link

Custom alias rules

  • Must be 3–60 characters long
  • Can only contain letters, numbers, and hyphens (-)
  • Cannot start or end with a hyphen
  • Cannot use reserved words (admin, api, help, blog, etc.)
  • Each alias must be unique across all users

Pro tip: Keep aliases short and descriptive — they are easier to remember and more clickable in social media posts.
